PROPOSALS TABLED [please contact Bob Darling (x2923 or [email protected])]
 New courses:
AED 578 Student Teaching Colloquia (Tabled, 6-0)
1) The course has the same syllabus as AED 378. The committee understands why this is appropriate for MAT students, but not MSEd students.
a) The syllabus states that MSEd students needs to integrate masters level coursework into their portfolio, and demonstrate a greater depth of analysis than that found in their undergraduate portfolios. Please include an appropriate rubric for demonstrating this.
b) please demonstrate in syllabus how MSED students are not simply re-duplicating their undergraduate work in AED 378 or equivalent (for in-service teachers who did not earn their degrees from SUNY Cortland).
c) Some of the course topics (e.g. job search preparations, mock interviews, portfolio) seem less relevant to MSEd students who are also in-service teachers. Its hard to envision how these topics meet the spirit of a culminating experience for MSEd students.
